Who it's for
When a company posts its first Controller role, an ERP, clean books and a first audit usually follow. The new finance lead picks who helps, and those choices are still open.
A first Controller means clean books and a finance budget, and no one yet for fundraising, board reporting or forecasting.
Reach companies before their new finance lead picks a system, and see which tools the post mentions, like QuickBooks or NetSuite.
The new finance lead will pick an auditor and a tax adviser, often for the first time. Reach them while that choice is open.
See which growing companies are hiring their first finance leader, in their own words, so you can offer the search while it's open.
How it works

We started watching in late 2026, so at launch every lead rests on the post's own words rather than years of history.
FAQ
Every lead quotes the job post saying finance is new, for example "our first finance hire" or "build the function from scratch", with a link so you can check it. We drop roles that report to an existing finance leader, and a second, more careful read checks every lead before it ships. A post can still be wrong about the company's past, so tell us when a lead isn't a first and we'll correct it.
About 5 a week across the US and Canada, often about 1 a week for a single state. That's our estimate from the posts we've seen so far.
A short call where we walk through recent leads from the states or provinces you sell into, with the post's own words and links, so you can check them yourself. Firms that join after a demo are first in line when the shared lead list opens.
No. You get the company, the role, the quote and the job link. Leads never include a person's name or contact details, even when a job post names someone. We don't sell personal data.
Public careers pages and job boards that companies publish through their hiring software (applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby). Never LinkedIn, Indeed or anything behind a login. Employers can opt out by emailing support@openingowl.com, and we stop checking their boards within 5 business days.
